Loving this series of articles! I sometimes start with a hook, but other times I start with a setting (both place and historical time period) that I know I absolutely HAVE to write about. Maybe you could do a post on settings?
Yes, great idea, I will put that on my list! I do think a really intriguing setting can be the spark for an excellent novel idea – and, of course, if it feels like something you absolutely HAVE to write about it will likely feel like something readers will absolutely HAVE to read about too.
